LET'S WELCOME THE BUFFALO WORM

Fall in love with our new seasoned insect; the Buffalo worm.

For our hottest seasoning so far, we decided to offer you a brand new edible insect species: The Buffalo worm. The Buffalo worm or lesser mealworm (Alphitobius diaperinus) belongs to the same family as the mealworm. It is particularly rich in proteins in iron. It has a nutty flavor, close to cashews and peanuts.

LESSER MEALWORM, STRONG FLAVOUR

A smaller edible insect doesn't mean a small taste. Regarding deliciousness and a great experience, there is no compromise!

We decided to combine the strong chilli seasoning with the nutty taste of the buffalo worm to create this snack that will be perfect for a healthy appetizer or to add some crispiness and proteins to your salad. A small insect for a big whoa!

THE BUFFALO WORM, A SUPER-FOOD

The buffalo worm contains more than 55% of complete protein. It means that all the essential amino acids are present in a sufficient amount. That's not all... It is also a source of iron and vitamins particularly well absorbed by our body. That's why we also choose this super-food to enrich our pasta. Chill and enjoy our healthy chili buffalo worm!

INSECT PROTEIN FOR THE FUTURE? SNACKS FOR NOW!

In 2050, we will be 10 Billion people on our planet. The way we produce food is not sustainable and we will need new solutions; edible insects are one. They are high in proteins and vitamins and can be farmed sustainably. As they are cold-blooded, they only require a small amount of feed and water to grow and reproduce really fast. As the idea of eating insect protein makes sense, we are aware that it will take some time before eating insects becomes mainstream. That's why at Jimini's we are going forward, step by step and want to offer you the tastiest way to discover edible insects. Why not start with this spicy chili buffalo worm?

WARNING! It is possible to be allergic to insect food. Food allergens are proteins. Sensitisation to insect proteins is possible, just like to any other food proteins. The proteins that insects contain are similar to the proteins of e.g. crustaceans and molluscs. Thus persons who are allergic to prawns, for example, may have an allergic reaction from insect food.
