These Terms and Conditions are valid from 6.6.2018.
Prices include the Finnish VAT. We withhold the right to change prices and shipping costs.
As insects in some EU countries cannot be legally sold as food, we sell our food insects to those countries as non-food with non-food VAT. In case you order our insect products to an EU-country that does not allow selling insects as food, you should inform Bug Bazaar about that condition in the “Additional information” box of the order submission form. Based on that information, we will adjust the VAT accordingly and a higher non-food VAT will be charged from the customer. In case the customer does not accept the additional charge, the order will be canceled and the money the customer has already paid to us will be refunded to the customer.
The VAT on food in Finland is 14% and the VAT on non-food products is 24%.
The products are ordered in the online shop by moving them into the basket and by paying the contents of the basket in the online payment service. Confidentiality applies to all customer data.
The information provided by a customer is used for fulfilling the order or for settling possible disputes. If information is used elsewhere, the customer is notified about that and the customer’s permission is asked.
Before placing an order in our online shop, you are expected to have read and accepted the terms and conditions which are valid at a given time.

The ordering cost includes shipping and packaging costs. When you place an order, our shop card will show you an estimate of the cost for the shipping method you have selected. The shipping costs depend on the weight of the products you purchase.

A NOTE FOR HEAVY PURCHASES
Shipping costs for international orders are high and we want to offer the best possible service to our customers. In case your order weighs one kilogram or more, you should directly contact our customer service. In that way, we can manually tailor your order and plan the best shipping method for your needs!
A NOTE FOR LETTER SIZED FLAT PURCHASES
If you only order 1-3 flat and light products, they can probably be shipped as a letter, which is a lot cheaper shipping method than the parcels listed as available shipping methods. In case you think your order would fit into an envelope, please register as a customer and send us an email so that we can put your order together manually.
Our goal is to send an order within 14 days from receiving the payment. The duration of the transportation after sending the order and the delivery time depends on the shipping method customer has chosen.
In case you have ordered a product that has run out of our stock, we will inform you immediately when we notice the stock out.
Customers will be informed about potential delays in delivery times on the front page of our online shop.
Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained herein, the Rights Agent shall not be liable for any delays or failures in performance resulting from acts beyond its reasonable control including, without limitation, acts of God, terrorist acts, shortage of supply, breakdowns or malfunctions, interruptions or malfunction of computer facilities, or loss of data due to power failures or mechanical difficulties with information storage or retrieval systems, labor difficulties, war, or civil unrest.
You can cancel your order from Bug Bazaar within 14 days of placing your order without any special reason. The 14-day cancellation period is calculated from the receipt of the ordered goods. If you are a consumer and open a food product you have purchased from Bug Bazaar, you will not lose the right to cancel your order, but you will be liable for any reduction in the value of the goods. Because the resale value of an opened food product is zero, you virtually lose the opportunity to get your money back when you open our product, unless there is a noticeable defect in the product we purchase.
If you wish to cancel your order, please notify Bug Bazaar Customer Service immediately by writing. We will register the arrival of your message as the moment of the cancellation of your order. We can then agree on one of the best ways to return the goods you have ordered to the Bug Bazaar and return the payment or part of the payment to you.
Any refund will be made using the payment method you used when you placed your order in the Bug Bazaar.
The customer who wishes to cancel the transaction for no particular reason due to the Bug Bazaar is responsible for the cost of returning the products back to the Bug Bazaar. The customer is obliged to ensure that the products are adequately packaged to protect them from damage during transport. Upon receipt of the return shipment, Bug Bazaar will inspect the products and reimburse customers for the price of the products that arrived undamaged.
Upon receipt of the delivery, the customer must immediately check that the delivery has included the products he has ordered and that the products are externally free of defects. Products do not need to be opened to inspect the contents.
If the customer discovers a defect in the product after using the product, he must notify Bug Bazaar customer service no later than within 7 days of detecting the defect.
In the event of a delay or error within the meaning of the Finnish Consumer Protection Act found in the delivery or, products, the provisions of Chapter 5 of the Finnish Consumer Protection Act concerning the penalties for delay and error shall apply.
The customer can cancel their order free of charge if Bug Bazaar receives the customer's cancellation notice before Bug Bazaar has purchased transportation for the order. The time of receipt of the cancellation notice is the moment when someone in our customer service actually receives and responds to the order cancellation notice. We recommend that you submit your cancellation notice in more than one way to ensure that your cancellation notice arrives. Email, cell phone messaging, and calling together are a safer way than using just one notification method.
Unclaimed shipment is not the same as a returned shipment. We do not refund money for unclaimed shipments.
In case the shipment has disappeared or suffered damages during the transportation, you are expected to give Bug Bazaar customer service a notice of defects within 14 days of the arrival of the order. In case the shipment has suffered damage during transportation, you should complain about that to the shipping company.
To protect our images, design, content, logos, product descriptions or the overall look and feel of your website, nothing contained within the website should be used by a third party without the prior written consent of the owner of the website.
In general, the Finnish Law is applied to orders placed at Bug Bazaar. Potential disputes are solved in Finnish courts.
